Would like to hear opinions on the current Iraq war from veterans of the first Iraq war.?

I am a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. And I am totally against this war. I think President Bush used falsified intelligence documents to justify the invasion. (I hesitate to even use the words Bush and intelligence in the same sentence). He wanted to finish the job his father started and get the Iraqi oil for his father's oil import company. You did know that Bush Senior has been in the oil import business since he left the white house, right?
The billions that are being wasted for this war could be used to find and eliminate the terrorist groups. And of course our soldiers lives are being wasted in a pointless war. I do believe in supporting our troops and say the best way to support them is to bring them home.
But I would also like to know what other veterans think about this war.

Im not a DS vet, but a vet of this war 2x. I totally agree with you. While it is comforting to know people drive in their SUV's with support the troops magnets, if they really wanted to support the troops they would speak up and demand those troops come home. It is a total waste of good soldiers to keep this going and has nothing to do terrorists. The only terrorists in Iraq are the ones we created by being their. I wish people would wake up and snap out of their bubble!
