The secret weapon of success could be right at your fingertips
Weapon 1. What Rocked The Journal
Iâ € ™ ve always been envious of the amazing day of my mom has been able to maintain for years. Envious, but apparently unable to repeat this feat! Until this year ISA € | instead of trying to match my Muma € ™ s feat simply start a â € œwhat € rockedâ Journal January 1, 2007. A small entry for each day of something that was impressive (aka that rocked) about my day.
On each day I'ma € ™ ve no relationship set for every day things, like having John Anderson (the legendary founder of Contiki) agree to write the foreword to my book was withdrawn to 27 in a great dinner with friends and the promotional launch of a new business.
By focusing on the good of each day, the goal is to attract more of those great things in my life to focus on the dull side and down every day.
"Life is less a matter of 'finding' ourselves as it is a matter of making ourselves. "Alan Loy McGinnis
Weapon 2. The low-tech Fund Objective
Iâ € ™ ve goal has always focused enough, even as early as 7 or 8 years when I decided that the best way to make my first million (one of my first goals) was pirated in traffic video tape to my classmates (see my first book Advance to go for some of my other children's adventure)!
Obviously I'ma € ™ ve progressed more legitimate in the midst of achieving my goals these days. I used to have lists in the lists of targets to take my signals from my mentors such as John McGrath, who rolled his list and in the shower and mine was in my car in the sun Visor (until I realized that I live in Tasmania and Dona € ™ t need to use my sun visor all that often!) IA € ™ I have lists taped on my desk in my portfolio lists, lists of my bed, the lists in my head. Until I realized I didnâ ™ € t love the idea of having a list of all for two main reasons:
1. Because IA € € ™ ma very visual person a "so I wanted to be able to incorporate images to really make my goals seem real
2. Because every time I updated my list of goals and got rid of the things I've achieved, I lost that information. My â € € œdoneâ goals made, but also past which meant they had no way to look back and see what other things € ™ d reached.
And then one day it occurred to me. I was sitting with a very special sales consultant, Jeff, our real estate company and we were discussing the fact that although we had all this amazing technology and databasing software to customers if the best system for him was a file box with each customer in a card then thata € ™ s what you should use.
I thought you could use an online program aimed www.joesgoals.com (which is very cool and I recommend it) â € "but maybe just needed to get Very low technology and invest in some file cards and a picture of myself.
These days in my box of funky little low-tech of the goals I have any place:
P for these goals already planned and waiting to happen (like my trip to Cambodia in January)
G Lens dona € ™ t fit into any other category (my dream wardrobe, the world ™ € s the largest collection of shoes, a Bugatti Veyron from my husband)
B Objectives companies (for subscribers to my weekly email, income goals, etc)
T my favorite travel goals (this category has by far the most cards)
E Experiences I want to have (see an erupting volcano, going zorbing)
L things I want to learn (water skiing, dancing, piano, sign language, reading 52 books this year)
A statement, these sand t ™ € for both goals as the things I like to remind myself â € "and I check through my box at least weekly goal I thought this would be a good place to put them!
D DONE The best section! (includes goals such as indoor skydiving completed, speaking in Las Vegas, the launch of my new book was withdrawn to 27)
U This is my section Undone. Objectives I once thought I wanted, but now have decided Arena € ™ ta priority for me (being flexible is a good € "I just kept here as a reminder in case he changes his mind again!)
This system works really well for me because I'ma € ™ ve got space to write in detail where I need, I can add images (which makes me much more excited than words) and I also have space to write when and how to achieve the goal.
Check back through my section Made me give cause for celebration, moments to remember and a great record of what others have achieved ™ € during the last year.
Now, of course, good things Dona ™ € t come cheap! I think you can pick up his own goal at any office store for the princely sum of less than $ 10. And if the low-tech goal isnâ € ™ t for you, write a list its objectives painting on a wall, tattoo in your leg â € "do everything you need to do to make it work for you!
"The victory of success is half won when acquired the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious task is bearable as the parade through each day convinced that every task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to achieving their dreams. "Og Mandino
Weapon 3. The Wall
Years It makes the game to my gym I always liked the quote little motivation to blu-tac-ed on the computer and on the walls. It made me realize that if I saw a quote recently while slogging out on a bike for 5 minutes could give me some inspiration buzz then change what I was looking every day in my work area that could have the same impact multiplied many times.
Over the years, my walls are covered with many things, but here's a sample of Whata € ™ s is taking the place of honor.
1. Shake it Off and Step Up
Just Google upa € â € œshake off and step by reading this little big and IA m ™ Sure youâ € ™ € ll understand why I have it on my desk. Special thanks to Debbie MacQueen for introducing me to it!
2. My Burnie Running Number Ten
My running number of my career, the first ten kilometers (ran in October this year under my goal time) is a great visual reminder of an important goal achieved this year.
3. Retired at 27 Statistics
We have launched a new book this year and track visual on how sales go. Our team becomes excited when we add more sales to the list (like me!)
4. My personal mission statement
I wrote this mission statement for myself and my personal life when I sold my business last year. Without it I know I'ma € ™ d run the risk of not heading in the direction of my choice.
Alice in Wonderland: â € | I was wondering if you could help me find my way.
Cheshire Cat: Well, that depends on where you want to go.
Alice: Oh, no, it does not matter as long as …
Cheshire Cat: Then really does not matter which way you go.
My mission statement includes things like:
My Lifestyle
â € ¢ is supported by passive income
â € ¢ I can see the world
â € ¢ allows me to spend time with my husband
â € ¢ Allows gave me time to be fit and healthy
â € ¢ Let me proud and excel in my achievements
The development of its mission is dead simple because thereâ € ™ s no good or evil, there is no correct format and no need to work for anyone but you!
Weapon 4. The book of knowledge
Have you ever attended a seminar, read a book, heard someone speak and was introduced to a great idea â € "only to realize that youâ ™ €'ve heard before, I thought it was fantastic and removed from his brain almost as fast as it came!
My book of knowledge is what I use to avoid many of these moments (I used to spend a lot!) Whenever read, hear or learn something that causes the bulb moment for me â € "I write in my book of knowledge.
Itâ € ™ s a fairly simple and therefore has helped not only in the use one of my many notebooks groovy (I think it may have an addiction to them) â € "but also in tracking the best ideas that come into my brain (before the head again!). While I truly believe that the human brain is an amazing thing, mine certainly doesn t ™ € remember everything you need. Reading back over this book that contains ideas, business strategies, quotes, stories, articles, I get an instant rush of inspiration. And if youâ € ™ re someone (like me) who can not € ™ t take deface a book, highlighting or writing on it â € "just do the job as a solution for you too.
"Reading provides the mind only with materials of knowledge, is the thinking that makes what we read ours. "John Locke
Weapon 5. Instant Memories
Sometimes I get a phone call that doesn € ™ t go the way I want it to, or receive an email which makes me a little cranky. The bad times happen to us all sometimes, but I feel itâ € ™ s what we do to get out of that is really important. My secret weapon to get me back on the road on my desk are what I like to call my memories instantly.
Thereâ € ™ s my baseball immediately transports me to an amazing trip my husband and I took to Disneyland. Thereâ € ™ sa gift given to make me Goofy smile. Thereâ € ™ s the quote framed I bought while celebrating a huge commercial success.
Each of these elements are simple little things, but have the power to be able to produce a dramatic change in my mental state when I need to do so.
"Everything that has happened is an experience Learning to grow into a beautiful memory to reflect on, or a motivating factor to act. "Denis Waitley
