How do I change the color of an army coat?

I bought a camo army coat (newer) for a halloween costume. I've tried spray painting it the green it needs to be, but it looks like it'll be too dark because of the camo colors underneath. I've tried using fabric dye in the washer, it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I'm really needing to find a way to change the color on this to a light tan so I can spray it the color green it needs to be.

Any ideas?

Forget it as you have already spray painted it. The material is probably treated to repel stains (dye and paint included) Go to a Thrift Shop and Buy a green coat for a few dollars.

Whenever working with customers painting business is a good point to remember is to begin to say "yes" to that right off the bat. The best method for it is asking questions that never can be answered "NO" a. Not a negative word.

For example, when you were a child and wanted go out and play that probably were very creative to get your mom or dad to say yes to you.
