Company History
Victor Adding Machine Co. was a fledgling company in 1918, when the operator of a successful chain of meat markets salesman Victor gave $ 100 for what he thought would be to buy an adding machine. Instead, he received 10 shares of company stock. In an effort to protect your investment, Carl Buehler man became a director of Victor in September 1918 and was elected president of the company three months later. The first Victor adding machine, Model 110, was introduced in 1919.
In 1921 Carl selected at age 24 old son, AC, as Vice President of Operations and advised him to operate the company orking as hell, but trying to appropriate employees and allows them to earn some money. Carl also believed in reinvesting most of the benefits that the company could grow. CA took control of the company in the death of Carl Buehler in 1932.
During the Second World War, Victor made a compass plane, a B-24 bomber turret gunsight, and Norden bombsight. After the war, Victor was all the necessary elements for the success of adding machine products industry quality, good research department, an efficient factory, an organization effective sales and a dedicated service department. Therefore, it is not surprising that in 1947 Victor had become the world's largest manufacturer of the exclusive adding machines and five years later than a million units sold.
In 1953, Victor came into the business of the cash register, the acquisition his client's long, the McCaskey Register. This acquisition immediately contributed to sales and marked the beginning of a phase of great expansion.
AC started to assess the market for computers during the 1950s. Decided that the market had potential, but he would stay out of it until he could find or develop a product suitable for businesses both large and small. The solution came in 1961 when it merged with Victor Comptometer Corporation, which produced the calculating machines and telecommunication device called Electrowriter.
The newly formed Victor Comptometer maintained an aggressive stance towards expansion product line. In 1966, the line box, which had begun with a calculator on top of a cash drawer, was expanded to include the cash register Hugin. Swedish This product was distributed by Victor in the U.S. and Canada. In 1967, there were 75 basic models in the line of Victor.

In 1975, Victor began producing a series of electronic cash registers.
Kidde, Inc. of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, acquired the company and renamed Victor Business Machines in 1977. Under new management, Victor began to search products for the office of the future. Because of its advanced features and excellent marketing, the machine Sirius quickly became the number one microcomputers sold in Europe. Realizing the value of distribution channels Victor, Sirius is available to acquire the business of Victor Products Division of Kidde, Inc. The combination of the rapid expansion of personnel, a large increase in the number sales branches and sales that did not meet expected levels, caused the company to experience financial difficulties in 1983. In order to protect technologies Victor, Inc. and at the same time find a way to fulfill its obligations to its creditors, the proceedings initiated under Chapter 11 of U.S. Bankruptcy Court in February 1984. As Victor tried to restructure and streamline its operations next year, the company continued to fill orders for office and computer products.
In August 1984, agreed with Datatronic AB of Sweden to purchase 90% of Victor Technologies, Inc.
