where does the ork (orc) originate from?
i was wondering for a book i am writeing.
i mean where was it first used
Orcs have been around long before Tolkien. They were a staple of the old fairy tales. Orcneas merely meant monsters as the term appears in Beowulf. Classically it is most often used as a variant of ogre, which show up quite frequently in Slavic, Irish, and other European fables. The various Fairy Books (Blue, Crimson, Green, etc) from the 1800's would be a decent place to look for some of the older stories. The story behind the Warhammer 40K
The Warhammer 40K is known as a war game miniature table that has the establishment of a fantasy universe scientific.
