Entertaining on July 14th?
I'm having some friends over on July 14th, and I'm not sure what I should make. My first thought was because it would be Bastille Day to have a nice meal of a green salad for the first course, poulet chasseur (chicken in white wine and tomato sauce) and white and wild rice pilaf for the main course, and then key lime pie (not french, I know, but I love key lime pie) with mixed berry sorbet for those watching their weight. The other option is a more casual meal, with bbq beef, jerk chicken, and sesame chicken skewers, and then you know, side salads like asian cole slaw, and potato salad with apple and bacon, still key lime pie and mixed berry sorbet for dessert. Anyway, which do you think would be better?
I would choose the dinner that is easiest prepared ahead of time. This way you will have more time with your guests and less stress. The more that you can prepare ahead of time the better.
