Well, so it has gone through training. You've flown solo work he has done cross country, which has had the training bell of night flights and made more than one hundred and twenty landings. Has taken and passed his checkride, and his pilot's license, has just appeared in his mailbox. Congratulations! What now? Well, it's time to choose a flying club.
One of the most rewarding parts of being a pilot is sharing their experience and flight time with friends. Not everyone has the benefit of having friends who are pilots, but that does not mean you can not do something. Join a flight club may be the best way to experience the various aspects of aviation that you would normally be lost just get on with things. Besides providing good friends and good company, a flying club can provide the enthusiasm, confidence, and most importantly, the current flight education that reaches beyond its flight and train students in their future of aviation. Aeroclub great places as a student provide a list of hundreds of major aviation clubs by U.S. State to go see what is available in your neck of the woods!
If you are going to fly professionally and keep their ratings, or simply use your pilot certificate with recreational purposes, to join a flying club is always the right decision. Many flying clubs require little more than an annual minimum fee, sometimes just as much as $ 40 or $ 50 a year. Most flying clubs meet on a monthly or bimonthly, where pilots can share their knowledge, keep each other abreast of the latest airport or FAA regulations, talk about the weather, and especially the flight plan places together. These types of clubs usually organize Club Fly-in at the local restaurants in neighboring airports, and a skiing plan even more ambitious flights. Many pilots like to fly with the benefit of a co-pilot, so you can go in the right seat for a quick trip or turn around the airport ... make new friends in the process. In a flying club well you will find owners aircraft, aircraft of the tenants, and even some drivers who did not join the club just for the love of flight. Together, they can go and see places not usually thought, without the benefit of meeting all these other people.
The choice of a flight club can be as simple as lowering your home airport and see that there is only one available. Unfortunately, rising fuel costs and lower disposable income has made a big dent in General Aviation as a whole. However, pilots who like flying always find a way ... and these pilots generally stick to their flight clubs and the communities of flight. Find yourself a flying club which is local, and flying out of an airport will feel comfortable with. Ask them where they are, and when their next meeting. Most of these clubs will be delighted to have you, and we invite you to attend a meeting or two so you can see how they operate.
Once you are attending a flight club, make yourself known. Arise and introduce yourself and talk about your riding experience. Ask questions. Find out how often the visits to the club of flight plans, and where they go, and what they do when are there. Most flying clubs will have a president, vice president, treasurer, and such. Ask about fees and what they are used and how will benefit the club as a whole. Some flying clubs maintain video libraries for the purpose of flight training, and many have a close relationship with an FBO or airbase home. Join a club that could get FBO privileges of this kind. Sometimes your share, you can even give the benefit of reduction in aircraft lease rates. If you are an owner of the aircraft, you'll find drivers who are willing to travel with you just for the joy of being in heaven. Most of them offer to split the cost of fuel, or holding the club for the return trip. And if you do not have a plane, a local flying club will be in touch with people who do. These members can be fast friends after only one or two trips or meetings. Building relationships with other pilots will teach you more than any book or video could ever, with other flights and flying club members is the best teacher there is. Observe your flying techniques, for unknown airports, and if you're a pilot well, you can even share your own knowledge with others.
So take your time, check out your options and choose a flight club is right for you. If you have more than one option, attend meetings of both. Talking to all those who can, and get an idea of how the flying club - and how members of its operation - before deciding to commit to the monthly meeting. But once you do, you'll be happy to have her around other drivers with whom to share his love of flying.
