Warhammer 40k Army?
I am finding it very hard to choose a warhammer army to start with and im going to the shop tomorrow. At the moment im thinking about collecting: Imperial guard, chaos marines or necrons OR an eldar force (either). Can someone give me some suggestions on which army would be good?
Id like a army fun to paint (not too complicated), easy-medium rules and an army that people would want fighting beside them. Could you also include if people like imperial guard fighting with them!
Hello well Imperial Guard are great if you have plenty of money to buy lots of models. And i mean lots. You can do very much with a guard army but you have to spent money. They die easy not very good armor but there are so many guardsmen its ok. Painting them is not too hard but its not easy. There are lots of things you need to know about guard. You can use guard in just an Imperial Guard army, you can use them in a Iquistion army. They are a good guy army just like Space Marines. I personaly enjoy a Guard player on my team.
Chaos as lots of rules with all there gods and that stuff but there easyer to learn then Eldar and a lot easyer to paint then Eldar. Necrons very easy rules easy to paint. CAN NOT be used with a other army in a team battle besides Necrons. And they have no seclection on weapons. ( i had a Necron army I hated them and gave them away)
I know you did not have Space Marines on your list but i recomend you as a starting player try them they are very easy to paint ( use spry paint and detail them with a brush) the rules are simple they have great armor you dont have to spend assloads of money on them to get a good starting army. And play them until you know the rules really well and you have seen and fought other armys so you can make an informed decition.
I also recomend that you only buy a codex or two tomorrow and read them before you spend a large sum of money it will help you make a dection on what army you want to play. You might read something that you dont like, but if you buy the stuff and then find out your stuck with it.

The Warhammer 40,000 is a fantasy which is to establish the space of a vast universe of fiction. You have several races that includes the Empire of Men, Orcs and Eldar. The races and the rules of play are discussed in the book of game rules and additional army codices. The setting of Warhammer 40,000 is not only used in games, but just as with video games and various works of fiction.
Knowing the principle of Warhammer is a way to understand the game and settings. One of the three biggest races in the game is the Empire. The Empire is led by Emperor of Mankind. The Emperor of Mankind is being described by the Imperial Ecclesiarchy as the Father, and God Guardian of Mankind. They've been on the throne of Golden Earth for ten thousand years, however, was still alive when his body can no longer support life and remains intact through the support of the soul of the sacrifices of millions and who has sacrificed his immortal life in the service of man. For humanity is nothing less than a God, through the Imperium that had humanity at large and formed one of the strongest races of the galaxy. His leadership was long and cruel.

The Marines first space was created by the emperor with the help of the Adeptus Mechanicus on Mars. Space Marines was created for the Great Crusade that would unify mankind in a single empire. The Primarchs were also created by the Emperor in the genes that developed the Space Marine. Primarchs and legions of Space Marines were joined during the Great Crusade, and while the emperor traveled throughout the stars, there were those who adored him but all he wanted was to enslave humanity and without them.
