please help me with cmd commands. how to copy?

How can i copy or move a file using cmd?
For example i have a file called "text document" on my desktop and i want to move it into a folder on the desktop called "new folder" how can i move that text document into the folder using cmd (command prompt)

please don't just say i could drag the folder/ copy & paste/ Cut & paste it

i want to know what are the commands to copying a folder and pasting it using cmd.

If its possible anyway. thanks in advance =)

Try these
- start command prompt
- change to your desktop directory using 'cd ' (without quotes)
( usually on XP "C:\Documents and Settings\\Desktop" )
- create the new folder using 'md "new folder"'
use 'copy' command to copy
- copy "text document" "new folder"
or use move command to move the file (Cut & Paste)
- move "text document" "new folder"
